Reliable Oil Immersed Transformers for Industrial & Utility Applications

Engineered for industrial facilities, utility networks, and renewable energy projects. Our oil immersed transformers deliver dependable performance, flexible configurations, and customized solutions for diverse power distribution needs.

Oil Immersed Transformer

The oil immersed transformer features a wide capacity coverage, with production available for high voltage grades from 30 kV to 2500 kV. Capacity expansion retrofits can be implemented at a later stage by replacing windings and optimizing the heat dissipation system, delivering high residual value utilization for the equipment.

What is an oil immersed transformer and why does it matter?

An oil‑immersed transformer, in simple terms, is electrical power equipment whose core components, namely the iron core and windings, are immersed in special insulating oil. The insulating oil fulfils two core functions: insulation and heat dissipation.

It plays a pivotal role because its excellent performance and high reliability make it the fundamental unit for voltage transformation as well as power transmission and distribution in the entire power system. Modern‑day power supply systems would not function efficiently without it.

High Dielectric Strength

Its insulation performance is considerably stronger than that of air, allowing the transformer to safely bear extremely high voltage within a compact volume.
Insulating oil simultaneously solves the two major problems of electrical breakdown and thermal damage.

Core Components of an Oil Immersed Transformer

Every oil immersed transformer is built from the same fundamental building blocks. Differences between a 100 kVA distribution unit and a 250 MVA transmission transformer are matters of scale, not architecture.

The core is typically built from grain-oriented silicon steel laminations, with premium S20 designs substituting amorphous metal ribbon to reduce excitation losses by roughly 30%.

Windings use copper as the default conductor, organized as concentric cylinders and mechanically braced to withstand short-circuit forces.
